Conoce a Eleanor.

Ella es 60-70% of revenue de tus ingresos — y tus páginas de producto no responden sus preguntas.

Eleanor is a discerning coffee enthusiast in her late 30s, likely residing in the UK with a connection to the Nottinghamshire area. She prioritizes quality, craftsmanship, and ethical sourcing in her food and beverage choices. She is willing to invest in exceptional products and enjoys supporting local, heritage-rich brands like Piccolos.coffee, drawn by their award-winning reputation for expertly roasted coffee and artisan goods.

    Ella llega ya pensando:

Is the coffee truly fresh and consistently high quality when ordered online and shipped, compared to buying in-store?

The online product descriptions lack enough detailed information (e.g., roast level, processing method, more extensive tasting notes) to confidently choose the best blend for my specific preferences.

The visual representation of the coffee products and equipment online is insufficient, making it hard to assess quality or imagine the product in my home.

    Lo que intenta hacer:

Consistently enjoy a premium coffee experience at home that rivals what I'd find in a specialty cafe.

Feel confident that my coffee purchase supports ethical practices, sustainable farming, and local businesses.

Explore and discover new and distinctive coffee flavors and origins from a trusted and knowledgeable roaster.

Lo que la impulsa a comprar:

A desire for high-quality, ethically sourced, and expertly roasted coffee that offers a superior, consistent taste experience.

Supporting a local, heritage brand with a strong reputation for craftsmanship, community ties, and an award-winning history.

Recommendations from fellow coffee enthusiasts, positive local reviews, or the opportunity to discover unique, small-batch coffee varieties and origins.

Lack of Detailed Product Information and Visuals Hinders Informed Choices

Eleanor, who prioritizes quality and craftsmanship, struggles to make confident purchasing decisions due to the catalog's shortcomings. Generic titles and limited product descriptions for coffees like 'Malawi Sable' or 'Tanzania Burka' fail to provide the depth of information she expects, such as specific roast profiles, detailed tasting notes, or farm stories beyond a few lines. Furthermore, the insufficient product imagery, noted as a critical issue, means she cannot adequately visualize the product or its packaging, diminishing the premium perception of the brand she values and making it harder to discern unique qualities or feel connected to the product's origin.

Lack of Narrative and Artisanal Detail

Typical e-commerce product descriptions often focus on features (e.g., '250g bag,' 'medium roast,' 'chocolate notes') and may miss the deeper narrative. Piccolos.coffee's descriptions would likely fall short by not embedding the brand's rich heritage, the artisanal process, the passionate commitment to quality, or the connection to its local community. They might present facts without conveying the 'why' behind the product's excellence or the emotional experience customers rave about, failing to leverage the 'trusted local expert' persona. This would result in descriptions that feel generic rather than uniquely Piccolos.

    Malawi Sable

Tasting notes: Chocolate, toffee apple, hazelnut.

Coffee has been grown on Sable Farm in Southern Malawi for over 30 years alongside dairy and macadamia nuts. Sable Farming Company Ltd. is the only existing incorporated coffee producer in Malawi.

Just a little smaller than Mississippi, Malawi is a landlocked country and yet is home to over 400 miles of lakefront land. One third of Malawi is taken up by Lake Malawi, one of the world's deepest lakes, reflecting the altitudes that borders its shores. Coffee first came to Malawi in 1878 and was grown by both local farmers and Europeans but production and exports were nominal until the 1950s when the government distributed seeds in an effort to encourage an increase in cash crops for export. This effort was primarily focused on farmers in the northernmost highlands on the border with Tanzania the Misuku Hills. Enough small farmers started growing coffee that in 1957 the formers the Misuku Coffee Growers Cooperative Society, which is still in operation today.

Like Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and eastern Zambia, Malawi is part of the East African Rift Valley which, geologically and as far as coffee is concerned, means ideal altitudes and volcanic soil. in addition to the many smallholder farms of the Misuku Hills in the highlands of northern Malawi above the shores of Lake Malawi, there are a handful of larger estates in the south on what explorer Dr. Livingstone dubbed the 'Shire Plateau.' The small coffee farmers of central and northern Malawi have a long traditional of farming cooperatives or unions of farmers. Compared to tobacco, sugar and tea, coffee product has always been small, less than 5% of exports, but that number is growing as a focus on quality processing for the specialty market increases and farmers are incentivised by better prices.

Origin: Malawi

Subregion: Mangochi, Southern Malawi

Harvest season: 2023/2024

Farm name: Sable Farm

Processing: Washed

Varieties: Batman, Catimor 129, Caturra, SL28

    Tanzania Burka

Burka coffee estate was founded in 1899 by German settlers just outside the town of Arusha in Northern Tanzania. The neighbouring Selian estate was established in 1910 and acquired by Burka in 1991. The first coffee trees were planted in 1918 and now number some 1.3 million, mostly shade-grown varietials. 314 acres are reserved for forests and a further 250 acres to natural grasslands. There are around 200 permanent staff at Burka, a further 200 casual daily staff and up to 5000 temporary staff involved in the picking and sorting at the height of the harvest season. All permanent staff are provided with housing on the estates with salary set at least 20% above minimum government requirements.
Staff have social security and labour union membership included in their contracts and an estate credit union also offers loans and advice for education, health and house construction. Each estate has its own nursery which educates over 100 children and two primary schools cater for over 600 children from the estate workers and neighbouring communities. An on-site health centre with nurse and dispensary is available for all staff and the estate has its own ambulance along with shops, sports facilities, churches and a mosque. Regular inter-estate football and netball matches occur along with staff BBQs and other holiday celebrations. Workers are supplied with free firewood from stumped coffee trees and fruit and nut trees are grown around the staff villages.
The staff at Burka have a combined wealth of agronomist experience and over the course of many decades the estate has built a reputation for consistent production of fine arabica coffees characterised by mild acidity with flavours of lemon, chocolate and caramel.

Origin: Tanzania

Subregion: Arusha

Harvest season: 2023/24

Farm name: Burka and Selian Estates

Processing: Natural/dry processed

Altitude: 1350m - 1500m

Varieties: Blue Mountain, Kent, KP423, N39, Red Bourbon
